When it comes to weight loss diets, it is not so simple to understand which is the truth and which is just a marketing move.

1. Fresh juices – the best way to detox

Fresh juicesOur body is a complex mechanism, which is constantly runs the process of self-cleansing, which involves:

  • Kidneys
  • Liver
  • Gastrointestinal tracts
  • Skin

Therefore, when you sweat or visit the restroom, you go through detoxification. If you want to help your body release the load after a day of gluttony, you should consume only natural and nutritious foods, cooked without fat.

Nutritionists warn: smoothies and green juices hide an invisible danger – they contain too few calories for a proper functioning of the body.

2. If you want to lose weight – avoid processed foods

processed foodsThe word “processed” can hide a number of things, including:

  • fermentation,
  • pre-treatment,
  • removal of inedible parts of the fruit.

So, if you cut off all processed foods from your diet, you will exclude useful oats, almonds, yogurt and legumes.

3. Eat at least five times a day

There can be no standards when it comes to the number of meals. The “rule of five” turns into an impractical and unworkable by such usual things, like:

  • working schedule,
  • health status,
  • lack of time.

Three meals and snacks during the day – this is the norm.

4. Gluten-free desserts are allowed during a weight loss diet

Gluten-free dessertsIf we are talking about fruit as a dessert, then yes, it is true, yet when it comes to pastries…

The main difference between the gluten-free “yummies” and traditional “yummies” is that wheat flour is replaced with gluten-free flour.

Yet their composition still includes:

  • sugar,
  • butter,
  • other components that can harm your figure.

5. Whole-grain bread is a 100% useful product

fruit saladAll varieties of bread, even whole-grain one, contain salt and sugar. Before buying into advertising, carefully study the label. Dietary bread can contain no more than 5 grams of sugar and 100 mg of sodium. Be careful with tricky unpronounceable components.

Just to prove that you can benefit from a dessert, we present you a simple recipe for a dietary fruit salad.

You can use any fruits that you like, as well as fresh or frozen berries. We will take the classics:

  • Banana
  • Orange
  • Kiwi fruit

As the dressing, we will use natural yoghurt. It is important to take yogurt without any additives and extra sugar. Otherwise, your salad will be too sweet. Choosing natural yogurt for dressing allows you to enjoy the natural taste of fruit.

The last secret of our today’s salad is corn flakes. You can choose sweet or not – to your taste. Their main role is to provide a new consistency. The cooking process is very simple.

Take about half the banana and cut into fairly small pieces. Carefully peel the orange, not forgetting the white parts of the peel, and cut into cubes of the same size. Then comes the kiwi. Serve the salad in a pretty tall or short transparent glass, laying fruits in layers. Alternate the layers as you wish. For example:

  1. A layer of bananas
  2. A couple teaspoons of yogurt
  3. A bit of cornflakes
  4. A couple teaspoons of yogurt
  5. A layer of kiwi
  6. Layer of oranges
  7. The remaining yogurt
  8. Sprinkle with some cornflakes and a garnish with some frozen blueberries or raspberries

This salad is good for breakfast or dinner, if hunger suddenly wakes up, and an excellent alternative to high-calorie desserts, when you invite friends to your place. You can choose from plenty of options for such salad. Besides, fruit is present on the shelves of supermarkets at any time of the year.
